Fokus

Analytics

Review workload patterns, completion trends, source mix, and AI-generated planning insights.

Overview

Analytics is the reporting view inside Fokus Planner. It summarizes how work is distributed, how consistently tasks are completed, how accurate your estimates are, and where tasks are coming from.

Analytics view in Fokus

The page combines high-level KPI cards, AI-generated observations, and several charts in one place. In the current layout, you can switch periods, review headline metrics such as Total Tasks, Completion Rate, Avg Time / Task, and Focus Score, then move into deeper breakdowns like task sources, category balance, priority mix, time-block effectiveness, and estimation accuracy.

Best use of Analytics

Use Analytics when you want to evaluate how your planning is working over time. It is most useful after you have already captured and scheduled work and want to improve the quality of your system.

How to Access It

  • Open the Planner menu from the bottom navigation.
  • Select Analytics.
  • Use the period controls at the top to review a custom range or jump to Today, This Week, This Month, or This Quarter.

What You Can Do Here

  • Review summary metrics for task volume, completion rate, average time per task, and focus score.
  • Compare the current period against the previous period using the change indicators on each KPI card.
  • Read Fokus AI Insights for quick narrative feedback about your planning patterns.
  • Inspect Task Completion to compare completed versus pending work.
  • Review Category Balance to see how work is distributed across buckets or life areas.
  • Check Task Sources to understand which connected systems are generating work.
  • Review Do Date vs Due Date to see whether completed tasks tend to land early, on time, or late.
  • Inspect Priority Distribution, Time Block Effectiveness, and Energy Level Distribution to understand how work is shaped.
  • Review Meetings vs Focused Work and Time Estimation Accuracy when you want to assess time quality rather than just task count.

Common Tasks

Choose the right period

Start by setting the range in the header or use a preset such as This Week or This Month so the rest of the page reflects the timeframe you actually want to evaluate.

Read the headline metrics first

Use the KPI cards to get a quick sense of volume, completion, time efficiency, and focus before diving into the detailed charts.

Check the AI summary

Review Fokus AI Insights for a fast interpretation of the data, especially when you want to spot planning issues without reading every chart individually.

Investigate the pattern behind the numbers

Move through the chart panels to understand whether issues come from category mix, source overload, weak estimation, timing, or priority distribution.

Feed the insight back into planning

Return to Kanban or Calendar after reviewing Analytics so you can rebalance work, adjust estimates, or improve how tasks are scheduled.

Important Behaviors

  • Analytics is review-oriented rather than schedule-oriented.
  • Period navigation changes the story the page tells, so choose the timeframe before interpreting the results.
  • The KPI cards give a quick summary, but the chart panels explain why those numbers look the way they do.
  • Fokus AI Insights turns the raw data into plain-language observations, which is useful when you want a faster interpretation layer.
  • Several charts focus on planning quality, not just output, including due-date timing, energy mix, and estimate accuracy.

When to Use Analytics Instead of Calendar or Kanban

  • Use Analytics when you want to evaluate patterns across a period instead of editing today’s plan.
  • Use Kanban when you need to reorganize tasks by date.
  • Use Calendar when you need to review or adjust exact timing.
  • Use Analytics after planning or execution to improve future decisions.
