Objective Decomposition Agent (ODA)
Turn a goal into a reviewable task list — AI proposes, you approve.
Big goals stall because "Launch Fokus 2.0" isn't something you can do on a Tuesday. ODA — the Objective Decomposition Agent — takes an objective and drafts the concrete tasks that would actually move it, then hands you the pen.
How it works
Pick an objective
On the Objectives page, find the goal you want broken down — weekly through yearly, all work.
Generate
Click Generate tasks with AI on the objective card. ODA drafts a handful of proposals, each with a suggested title, priority, energy level, estimate, and date.
Review — nothing is created yet
This is the important part: proposals are just proposals. Uncheck the ones you don't want, tweak what's close, and only then click Create. The kept tasks are born already linked to the objective.
From there the usual machinery takes over: TEA polishes any gaps and Smart Scheduling finds the new tasks a home in your week.
Getting better proposals
- Write outcomes, not themes. "Grow the newsletter to 500 subscribers" decomposes far better than "Marketing".
- Scope the objective to its period. A weekly objective should be achievable in a week — ODA sizes its proposals to match.
- The max tasks and auto-create behavior are configurable in Settings → AI Agents (by default nothing is ever created without your review).
Chat works too
Asking Captain Fokus to "break down my launch objective" triggers the same flow from the chat.
